RUMOURS: GUARDIOLA TO EARN £21M PER YEAR AT MAN CITY

RUMOURS: GUARDIOLA TO EARN £21M PER YEAR AT MAN CITY

Manchester City may have completed the best piece of business in the winter transfer window, having secured Pep Guardiola as their head coach for next summer.

However, it could be argued that the Spaniard himself has been just as successful, landing a massive deal which will make him the Premier League's highest paid coach, according to The Sun.

It was confirmed on Monday that the Spaniard will replace Manuel Pellegrini at the helm of the City first-team ahead of next season, and the British newspaper says he will pocket a whopping £21 million each year.

The annual figure means he will earn £12.7m more than second-highest and longest-serving Premier League manager Arsene Wenger, a further £1m more than Louis van Gaal at Manchester United and £14m more than Jurgen Klopp.

Incredibly, Pellegrini apparently earns just £4.2m per year, which perhaps indicates just how much City believe in Guardiola and the lengths they had to go to secure him.
